Book Club

Hannah Spates came with a unique and great suggestion with “Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow” by Gabrielle Zevin for our August book club. We had a great discussion about video games, love, life, complicated relationships, and so much more. I think it is safe to say, this book had it all! Thanks to Liz Waits for bringing her Nintendo playing cards for show-and-tell! Come be a part of our next book club pick discussion, “Remarkably Bright Creatures” by Shelby Van Pelt at Linda Vaughn’s home on September 30th from 1-3pm!

If you’d like to get on our book club list, please email: spateshannah@gmail.com.

Happy Reading!

Community Flag Program

To keep our costs down we have a volunteer flag team who help deploy and retrieve the flags. If you can place and remove the flags on your street it would be very helpful. We can deliver and pickup the flags at your home. Next flag placement will be Veterans Day November 11th.

We now have over 100 flags flying in North College Park! If you are willing to help with this activity, please contact Janice Gromadin at Elway100@gmail.com.

House Number Project

The house number project is still alive and well. Volunteers will make a sign at no charge for your back fence to comply with city regulations. These numbers make it easier for emergency services to find your residence.

Public Safety Expo

Event Date: September 23, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Location: Huffines Park – 300 N. Plano Rd. (near Huffines Children Park)

Join the Richardson Police Department for a free and fun family event. There will be police and fire department vehicles on display along with demonstrations from our K9 Unit and UAS (drone) Team. Visit with SWAT Team members and Bike Unit officers. Get an up-close view of the Texas DPS helicopter. Vendors and City services will provide information about safety and emergency preparedness. Meet Chase from Paw Patrol, Nat the National Night Out Knight, McGruff the Crime Dog and much more. More information.

About North College Park Neighborhood Association

NCPNA is a neighborhood association, and unlike a homeowner's association, we do not have any authority over anyone's property. We sponsor activities and projects to help make our neighborhood a more pleasant and safe place to live. Volunteers are always needed, and we look forward to hearing about new ways to achieve our collective goals.

Contact Robert Grinsfelder at rmgrins@aol.com if you can help with any of these activities.
